About Bremeninvest

Bremeninvest is the international brand of Bremen’s Economic Development Agency. It supports international companies in all matters relating to establishing a business in Bremen, providing guidance, advice and access to local networks on financing, approval procedures and other business-related issues.

Bremen and Bremerhaven form the Federal State of Bremen and are home to innovative industries including aerospace, maritime industries and logistics, 3D printing, robotics and AI, and food and beverages. Together, their ports form Germany’s second-largest seaport. Combined with a high quality of life, these strengths make the region an attractive location for international businesses and talent. By attracting international companies and talent, Bremeninvest contributes to the sustainable growth and global networking of Bremen’s economy.

In their own words

Bremeninvest is the international brand of the economic development agency for the federal state of Bremen. It represents the two cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven, one of the top industrial hubs in Germany.

Heart of this industrial success story are the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven. They live up to their motto: The key to the world, comprising of Germany’s second-largest container port and several specialized port facilities. Germany’s smallest Federal State has Germany’s highest export rate and second-highest import volume. Goods handled here – including coffee, cars, beer, fish and seafood, machinery and electrical equipment – are consumed by companies and individuals all over Europe.

Bremen is ideally located in the center of Europe, with excellent access to major road, rail and sea networks. It’s also just a short flight away from many European cities – for instance, the flight from London to Bremen takes only 90 minutes, and once you land, a direct tram brings you to the city centre in just 11 minutes. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a faster arrival anywhere else.

Bremen is also a premium location for the automotive industry, hosting the world’s second-largest Mercedes-Benz plant. In addition, it is a key player in the food and beverage sector, wind energy, and a growing number of high-tech industries including aerospace, aviation, renewable energy, robotics, additive manufacturing, AI and digital innovation.

The German British Business Summit on 15 October 2026 highlights the importance of regional collaboration in an increasingly interconnected world. The recently signed UK-Germany treaty has provided fresh momentum for cross-border partnerships, and Bremeninvest is proud to support the Summit as a sponsor. Our involvement reflects Bremen’s long-standing tradition as a city of trade and openness, while underscoring its role as a modern, forward-looking economic hub with deep ties to the UK.

Why we sponsor the Summit

The United Kingdom remains a vital trading partner for the federal state of Bremen. The German British Business Summit (GBBS) is the ideal platform to connect with entrepreneurs from the UK and across all sectors. We value this opportunity to deepen existing relationships and create new ones.
