Company profile

About Suffolk Chamber of Commerce

Established in 1884, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is Suffolk’s largest independent business forum. As a private-sector, not-for-profit and member-led organisation, it connects businesses across sectors with practical support, influential networks and a strong voice on the issues shaping economic growth.

Through membership, business support, advocacy, events and professional development, Suffolk Chamber helps companies respond to challenges and identify opportunities for growth. Its work spans people and skills, infrastructure, business resilience, sustainability, international trade and wider economic development.

International trade is a core area of the Chamber’s work. Through Suffolk Chamber International, businesses can access practical advice and training at every stage of their international journey, whether they are entering a new market or expanding established trade. Support includes export documentation, international trade consultancy, market-entry guidance, customs and compliance advice, training, and peer-to-peer networking through the Suffolk Chamber International Trade Group.

In their own words

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is at the heart of Suffolk’s business community, connecting businesses with the support, opportunities and representation they need to grow and succeed.

For more than 140 years, Suffolk Chamber has connected businesses with practical support, trusted networks and opportunities to grow. Its accreditation within the British Chambers of Commerce network strengthens those connections across the UK and internationally, helping Suffolk businesses develop new relationships and trading opportunities.

Suffolk Chamber International supports businesses throughout their international trade journey from exploring new markets, preparing to export, to meeting customs, documentation and regulatory requirements. Its International Trade Group gives businesses a forum to exchange experience, learn from peers and specialists, and engage with policymakers on the issues affecting global trade.

The German-British Business Summit 2026 provides an opportunity for Suffolk businesses and their partners to connect with companies, investors and decision-makers from Germany and the wider German-British business community. By participating in the Summit, Suffolk Chamber aims to strengthen connections, encourage the exchange of knowledge and highlight the opportunities available to businesses looking to develop their international networks and trading relationships.

Why we support the Summit

The Summit gives businesses a practical platform to build cross-border relationships, exchange market insight and explore opportunities for trade and collaboration. At a time of changing global markets, these trusted international networks and access to relevant knowledge and support can help businesses pursue sustainable growth with greater confidence.

At the Summit, Suffolk Chamber looks forward to sharing its experience of supporting internationally trading businesses and meeting organisations interested in building stronger commercial links between Suffolk, the UK and Germany.
