In their own words
Football and Artificial Intelligence
Dortmund is not only renown for football but we can also do AI. Over the past decades, Dortmund became an important hub for innovation, development and operations in AI and FH Dortmund is one of the key facilitators of this evolution. Embedded into Dortmund’s technology and innovation centre and tightly interwoven with leading international industry players in AI infrastructure and solutions FH Dortmund is a prominent contributor in the European Unions strategic AI development campaigns. With continuous involvement in EU’s Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI-ORA) and as a member of Germany’s Cluster of Excellence for AI-driven data processing we are positioned as ideal partner for collaboration with UK-based businesses centred around AI.
Besides AI the university delivers also in two other technical areas of utmost importance for the European society: sustainability and mobility. Dortmund is a city with automotive (supplier) industry transforming to automated driving and battery-electric vehicles. The mobility is embedded into smart cities and supplied with renewable energies from virtual power plants, integrating hybrid and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This leads to integrated mobility – energy – smart city systems which is researched by the ruhrvalley DeepTech cluster.
Why we support the Summit
The summit is much more than a place for people to make business. It is a place to share visions and ideas, to talk about chances and opportunities, to initiate collaborations and to deepen existing friendships. We support this event and appreciate the opportunity to elaborate what we can jointly create in technology for the benefit of our societies.
